MckLinky

There’s a great new “linky” service available and I wanted to let you know about it. It’s called MckLinky – www.mcklinky.com. After realizing the need for a new, reliable linky capability, Brent Riggs and MckMama got together to create a free, easy to use linky service for all their blog friends.

MckLinky is a free link list feature that allows you to do include lists of other blog links like MckMama does on Not Me! Monday. You can use MckLinky any time you want your blog readers to leave a list of links on your blog. It’s simple, reliable, free...and loads of MckFun!

Kids Say

Ashlee and I teach a children's class at church each Sunday, ages three to five. Tonight, we had a new little boy, Caleb, who was age five. After the Bible story, I was coloring with him, and we got to talking about how many siblings he had.

"Do you have brothers and sisters?" I asked.

"Well," he started. "I just have one brother. His name is Evan."

"Oh ... well, that's a nice name."

"Uh huh."

"How 'bout sisters?"

"No," he said, shaking his head. "No sisters."

Silence.

"But I do have two mothers."

Prying the gum from the back of my throat with my tongue, I said, "Oooooooohhhh!! Really?"

I looked at him, his ornery smile and sparkly pupils staring back at me.

"Nah ... I'm jus' kiddin'."

And that's what little boys are made of.

Nothin' but trouble.

----------------------------------------------

Same night, same kid:

"While miss Ashlee gets the story ready, how about each of you say your name out loud so we all know everyone a little better?" I started.

Everyone was more than willing to reveal their name. We came to the last little girl, and I said, "Okay, and what's your name, honey?"

"My name is Sophia!" she said proudly.

Caleb's eyes got big, his chest expanded, and he began singing in his best opera voice, "Ooooh, Sophia!! I just love the name Sophia! Soooo romantic and beeeeeaaauuutiful!!"

So far, the child has two mothers and is sweet talking the other little girls in the class. I'm afraid to think what might happen if the child attended each week.

Gracelyn's Sisters, Full of Joy

I'll be writing lots more on my so very nutty crazy week, but for now, just enjoy these cute (and may I say photogenic!) little nieces of mine.

I took these while they were playing in their Grandma's yard while their new baby sister, Gracelyn, was snoozing in the house with her Mamma. I remember playing in my Grandma's yard when I was about their age, and the joy on their faces is so telling.

Gotta love those Kodak moments.

Eye Candy

I'm on a My Fave's kick.

No, no. Not the "My Fave's" that you get to choose when you're a TMobile customer. But more of my favorite things. And one of my very, very, very favorite things is candy. And flowers.

However, since I'm not allowed to have candy because of diet restrictions (raaaarrrrr!!), I've replaced the "real" stuff with a different kind of candy.

Eye candy.

Like these ...

My candy cane roses.

Luscious lemon drops:

Starbursts.

Sweeeeeeet ....

Yeah. You know the flavor I'm talkin' about.

Is that drule I see on your chin?

To give credit where credit is due ... these last two were taken by Jessie. You know ... Lil' Miss Sunshine on the right sidebar.

She's just like my eye candy.

Only cuter.

And sweeter.

Now go ahead. Break into a bag of lemon drops or Starbursts.

And enjoy some eye candy while you're at it for a double your pleasure experience.

Baby, Baby!!

These are a few of my favorite things babies:

Little Gracelyn Hope. So soft and warm and new. I can't get enough of her, and if I didn't have Jesus in my heart, she might make a kidnapper out of me.

The baby of our family, Andrew, slidin' into home, makin' us proud.

And Baby J, making our days brighter, and full of laughter. She sleeps well, eats well, and smiles at the drop of a hat. What else could a caregiver ask for?

Nada.

Not that I'm asking for anything more.

Nope. Not me.

Happy Father's Day, Muffin

I don't really call Shaun "Muffin." But I couldn't resist making him squirm a little.

Ahem!

If I had to describe my kids' dad, I'd say he's:

  • Serious

  • Loyal

  • Compassionate

  • Gentle

  • Dedicated

  • Honest

  • Encouraging

  • Supportive

  • Baseball Lover

  • Football Lover

  • My Lover ;-)

Ok, so he IS a serious person. But as you can see in the picture below, he can be a little goofy too. Which is important when your children are blood relatives of the real Goofy ... and when you're married to me.

Thanks for being the father of my babies, honey. I wouldn't have it any other way.

And yes ... I really do call him "honey."
